title pic Review: Pink Silicone Lubricant for Women

Posted by Sarahbear on December 8, 2009

I’ve never tried a silicone based lube before so when Babeland offered me the opportunity to review one specifically formulated for women I was thrilled. When it got here I was pretty anxious to try it. I tried a little on my fingertips, rubbing it around to see how long it took for it to regain some friction, I lost count before it did. It definitely lasted a long time for me.

My husband and I used this for masturbation the first time and I wasn’t very impressed with it at first. I wasn’t use to the feeling of not having any friction at all. I mean, being fingered and having sex still felt good but neither of us were really sure if we liked it.We set it aside and decided to give it a shot another day.

Sure enough, the more I used it, the more I liked it. The consistency of the lube is absolutely perfect for sex. It requires a little more for manual masturbation, but it still gives a nice slick glide.

Pink comes in an attractive plastic bottle with simple pink lettering. It’s available in a 1.7oz bottle and a 3.3oz bottle. I have the 3.3oz bottle. We’ve used this lube several times in the last two weeks and we’ve barely made a dent. It has a convenient pump with a cute pink lid that snaps back on between uses, helping to prevent you from wasting your lube. This stuff should last a while. One or two pumps provides enough lube for quite a lengthy amount of sex and each pump only dispenses about a pea sized amount of lube.

In this picture I’ve squirted one pump onto my hand. As you can see it spread out over all of my fingers and the palm of my hand. There was still some pooled between my fingers as well. It’s very runny, so be careful. I haven’t noticed any staining, but I have dark sheets. You may want to use an old towel to be on the safe side. Also, the bottle of lube is in the background. When it arrived the lube was to the pink line at the top of the bottle. After about two weeks of using it every couple of days you can see it’s barely made a dent in the bottle.

Pink is condom-safe and hypoallergenic. It contains both Vitamin E and Aloe Vera which are very moisturizing to the skin. The other ingredients are Dimethicone, Dimethiconol and Cyclomethicone. It’s odorless and tasteless, so it won’t interfere with oral sex. You’ll want to avoid using it with silicone toys so you don’t damage any of them.

It’s easy to wash off. Which you will probably want to do. Once it mixed in with other bodily fluids and my husband was too tired to wash off after sex. He had crunchy pubes when he woke up. Just keep a damp rag around or some wipes if you don’t feel like making a trip to the bathroom every time you use it. You’ll also want to wipe down the bottle after use. You’ll need to reapply lube sometimes and it gets all over the bottle, making it a little slick and hard to hold on to.

Overall it is a really great product and I will be buying more when we run out. I think I may even like silicone lubes more than water based lubes at this point. Many thanks to Babeland for sending me this product to review!
