Review: Smart Balls by Fun Factory

A couple of months back myticklespot.com had this great gift card giveaway. They were so confident that people would love their products and customer service that they were just giving people $25 gift cards. I snagged one during that time and used it to purchase a pair of Smart Balls by Fun Factory.  I had wanted them for a while, but I kept putting it off. I figured I may as well get them since it wasn’t like I was actually paying for them. It was kind of like they were giving them to me for free.

They arrived a little less than a week later and I was really excited about trying them. I had to wait a while for my period to end because I didn’t want to stain the Vanilla-Pistachio coloring, which was gorgeous. I laid them on my bathroom counter and stared longingly at them every time I brushed my teeth. When I finally stopped bleeding, after what seemed like forever, I skipped into the bathroom, opened the sample of Fun Factory Toy Fluid that came in the box, dabbed a bit on the top ball and carefully inserted them.

At first, they felt a little strange. I could definitely feel the weights rolling around in them. I tried to walk around a bit but the string started to pinch my labia so I took them out. I thought maybe I had used too much lube or something. I gave it a few days and tried them again. I was going to wear them to the store. Once I got my jeans on the string started pinching my labia again so I ran into the bathroom and took them out again. I was so upset about how uncomfortable they were. I didn’t bother taking them with me on a week long trip out of town, and I didn’t even try them for a few days after I got home. I decided to give them one more shot, and tried them. I laid down on the bed for a bit to kind of let them settle, but as soon as I stood up they started pinching my labia again.

Basically, I think they’re just too long for my anatomy. They’re very well made and easy to use, but I need something a bit shorter. Smart Balls are kind of like Ben Wa balls, but they’re meant to be worn while your out and about. Simply wearing them during your day to day activities is suppose to help strengthen your pelvic floor muscles. This can help give you stronger, longer, better orgasms. I got them because four pregnancies and four vaginal deliveries had done a number on my pelvic floor. I have been having issues with mild incontinence for a few years now. It made me self conscious and even contributed to some of the miscommunication in my marriage recently. I’ve been working to strengthen them and rebuild my confidence as well.

Smart Balls are made with elastomed, which has a firm, smooth texture. Even the string has been coated! Each ovular-shaped ball has a small weight inside of it that rolls around as you move. The movement of the weight helps stimulate your muscles to contract. You can also use these as resistance for your kegel exercises. To clean them you’ll want to wash them with a mild soap and water, or a commercial toy cleaner.

As far as size goes, they’re about 4.5” long with a 2.5” string. The circumference is about 4.5” around, which shouldn’t be too much width for most women. A lot of women have really enjoyed their Smart Balls, though I unfortunately wasn’t quite able to wear them. I would still highly recommend them if you’re interested in products that will help strengthen your pelvic floor muscles.
