Review: Going Down

I requested an educational styled porn from Good Vibrations Sex Toys to review recently. It is entitled “Going Down: The Official Guide to Cunnilingus”. In layman’s terms? It’s a video about how to eat pussy. My husband is a huge fan of giving me oral sex but it’s not something I enjoy very much. Sometimes it’s great but most of the time I prefer other methods of bringing me to orgasm. We got this DVD because I thought that perhaps there would be plenty of great advice or techniques we could incorporate to try to make it more enjoyable for me. Though there was a lot of advice, it wasn’t necessarily anything we hadn’t heard before. There also wasn’t’ anything that really made things more enjoyable for me.

Dr. Carol Queen, the Good Vibrations Staff Sexologist and Co-Founder of the Center for Sex and Culture, gives a brief introduction and then walks you through a woman’s anatomy with a vulva pillow. She explains a lot about the different techniques you can use for oral sex and how some of the sensations may feel. In between the scenes they do a Q&A with several people who talk about the different things they enjoy about giving and receiving oral sex. I think this coupled with the information Dr. Queen gives are what make this movie shine. It’s very reassuring to have other people tell you that you’re not weird because you don’t like x, y or z. There are many, many ways that oral sex can be enjoyable and you aren’t doing it wrong. It’s important to relax, do what feels good and to let your lover know when something just isn’t working for you. The cast of the porn scenes included regular people and porn stars.

Scene 1: Madison Young and Danny Wylde. Madison is a tiny strawberry blonde who is quite vocal and appreciate of everything on screen. Danny is a lean and slightly muscled blonde who has a noticeable amount of chemistry with Madison. He spends the scene finger fucking her and lavishing her clit with plenty of attention. If I get oral I prefer it with some penetration. This scene was probably #2 on my list of favorites.

Scene 2: Jolene Parton and a guy . Both of them are dark haired and pretty sexy. This scene has it’s own steamy chemistry. It’s more slow paced with a lot of eye contact. Eventually she ends up riding his face and giving him a hand job, which is pretty fucking hot.

Scene 3: Madison Young and Mickey Mod. Mickey is a slender, light-skinned guy with glasses who has Madison whimpering the entire time he’s licking her clit. They have a bit more chemistry than the first scene, but it’s kind of ruined by Madison’s very weird moaning. The scene has a lot of potential but then she suddenly does some sort of siren or whiny dog noise that made me burst out laughing. Seriously.

Scene 4: Chocolate Chip and a red headed woman. This is one of the only two scenes to use barriers, which I actually preferred. The red head is the one performing oral sex on Chocolate Chip, who seems a little uncomfortable to be on the receiving end. Black latex gloves are worn for manual stimulation and small sheet of saran wrap is laid on the vulva during oral stimulation. It was kind of hard to get into this scene because Chocolate just did not seem to be really enjoying it.

Scene 5: A middle-aged couple. It was kind of refreshing to see people who didn’t have tight young bodies on screen. There was a lot more kissing in this scene than in the other scenes and I think that’s what made the scene. They looked very comfortable with each other and there was even some laughing that lightened things up.

Scene 6: Chocolate Chip and the red head again. This time, Chocolate is on the giving end. This was the hottest scene. More barriers were used (black latex gloves and a pink dental dam). Chocolate seems a lot more comfortable with herself when she’s in control rather than when she’s suppose to be relaxing and enjoying herself.

The entire movie is 57 minutes long, with maybe 25 or so of that being spent on the porn scenes. Dr. Queen and the Q&A’s are scattered through the movie in between each scene. I felt like it was a decent balance between educational and sexual.
