I don't think this has much to do with feminism at all, actually. I think it has more to do with people who just feel really strongly about something or another. It's cool that they do. They can probably teach me something. I've learned a lot more about feminism lately. I like that. But others are more interested or involved in it or any other.. passion/lifestyle/movement than I am and sometimes I just need to take a step back from it.

This is exactly what I've done over the past few weeks/months:

"I slowly began plucking these blogs from my feed reader when I saw the things they expected me to be pissed about getting more and more ridiculous."

(and with Twitter!) I liked the Slate article, too. :)

Amen!

I"m so much happier lately, with my Twitter stream cleared out and so many blogs off my reader.

Plus? I feel more free to say what *I* really feel, instead of what someone else says I should feel. And that? I love.

There are plenty of them. The ones that rant and rave about Justin Beiber having a brown girl in his music video or saying Miley Cyrus is a racist because of a performance involving some sort of tribal dancing. The ones expecting recently cheated on wives to hold a press conference to tell the world that they don't condone antisemitism because of a picture their soon-to-be ex-husband had been in. The ones that think the Daily Show is sexist because they hired a pretty woman to work there.

I just tire of people looking for controversy where none exists. Or worse, blaming the controversial things on people who have no fault in the matter.

Hear, hear! There are a lot of bloggers that I just can't take seriously anymore because of heir insistence on trying to create drama & controversy where there REALLY is none. A cleaning commercial is evil? Really? It's just ridiculously silly.
