title pic Sunday: Weekly Wrap-It-Up #29

Posted by Sarahbear on November 28, 2010

I love Christmas. I think it’s got something to do with the fact that we budget and spread our Christmas shopping out so that we’re not stressed out all month about paying bills and rushing around for gifts. We did the bulk of our shopping this weekend. Friday, we stopped by Wal-Mart for their Black Friday deals at midnight. We grabbed lots of toys for the kids and a few appliances we needed around the house.

Yes, we wrapped them and put them under the tree, even though all of us knew what they were.

Today, my sister and I headed to the local mall and found even more deals. We picked up some necessities for my brother from Wal-Mart, grabbed gifts for my grandparents (the ones who raised me) from Belk, got some things for my mother from Maurice’s and something for Chad from JCPenney. We hit the mother of all sales at Bath and Body Works though. They had a buy 3, get 3 free deal going on with all their signature scents and a 2 for $20 on their 3-wick candles. Plus? I had TWO coupons for free items with purchase.

We got shower gels, body creams, and body sprays in various lovely scents for several lucky gift recipients on my list. The total before all the specials and coupons was about $283. I paid? $116. I should have taken a picture of everything we got, but I already wrapped it all up and stuck it back in my closet. Plus, some of the recipients read my blog and can’t know what they got until Christmas. My sister and I are going to share our P.S. I Love You, Forever Sunshine, Vanilla Bean and Secret Wonderland.

After we got home and wrapped everything, we tried out the new Kinect. We had some trouble with it last night because there wasn’t enough lighting in the room. After a bit of a spat with Chad, we figured it out but went to bed anyway. We did the Dance Central game tonight and it’s pretty fun. I enjoy the dance and workout games for a nice change of pace from doing workout DVD’s or walking outside. I’m still making progress with my weight loss, despite the holidays. I think my body needed the break.

My brother moved in this week. He and my mother were getting into a lot of fights and there just aren’t many opportunities where they live for him to grow. We’re working with him to try and get him everything he needs to get a job and get on his feet. I’m feeling very generous right now. I think I’m just in a really good place this year. It’s the happiest I’ve been in a while.

I’m cutting it close for this to be ready on Sunday, so I don’t have a song in mind. I just hope everyone has a great week and a great holiday season.
