Review: Heart 2 Heart Cuffs

Heart 2 Heart Cuffs $35.00 from Babeland

Earlier this year I was fortunate enough to receive the Heart 2 Heart Whip to review. I loved it. We still use it all the time, actually. I saw the matching Heart 2 Heart Cuffs and asked Babeland if they would let me review them.

and they did!

The first thing I noticed, as with most leather products, was the luxurious smell when I opened the box. They were quite a bit smaller than the other cuffs we own. This is a good thing because I can easily slip my hands out of the others if I want. The Heart 2 Heart Cuffs are more suited for people with slender wrists and hands. They fit very snugly.

They’re made of two separate leather straps. The bottom one is soft and black. It’s about 9″ long and 2.5″ wide. The soft, supple texture of the leather allows it to easily wrap and overlap around even the most slender wrists. The red strap is designed like a belt. It’s 11″ long (12″ with the buckle). There are 7 holes, each about 1/2″ apart, the closest being 6″ from the buckle. With the added material I would be willing to wager it would fit a wrist as small as 4 1/2 – 5″ around. The furthest hole is about 9″ away from the buckle, so it might fit someone with wrists that large, but considering the overlapping leathers I would say to pick another set of cuffs if your wrists are bigger around than 8 1/2″.

Just like the whip, theses cuffs are very well made. The sewing is neat and sturdy. The silver hardware is gorgeous against the black and red. The cuffs look very masculine to me, which is great since my husband loves to wear them. I prefer more feminine dress and bondage (if I’m going to be wearing it, anyway). If you’re a fan of the colors or less frilly looking bondage, these will fit the bill. Store them somewhere dry so you don’t rust or tarnish the hardware. Wipe them down with a damp cloth to clean off any sweat.

If you’re looking for a new pair of cuffs and you think these are interesting, you can pick up your very own pair at Babeland.com. They have the matching whip, blindfold and collar if you want to get the whole set. They’ve got a nice selection of other cuffs and BDSM gear, as well as plenty of other sex toys to peruse, so take your time and find something you like! Thanks so much to Babeland for sending me these to review.

Review: Eden Toy Pouch

product picture
Storage container by EdenFantasys
Material: Cotton / Polyester
This product was provided free of charge to the reviewer.

I have been searching, for months, for nice looking storage bags. I’ve got so many silicone sex toys (and other materials) that are known not to play well together and I’ve been keeping them separated by wrapping them in saran wrap. I know it doesn’t matter because it’s just me and my husband who see them, but I wanted something nice looking. I could not believe that no one had requested the Eden Toy Pouch for review yet!

I did and I’m here to tell you that it is absolutely gorgeous.

The pouch is 10 1/2″ long x 4 3/4″ wide, which should be a suitable size for most toys.  The outer layer is a black(it comes in purple too!) faux suede and the inner layer is a pink satin, both made from polyester. There is a thin cotton liner between the two fabrics. The outside of the bag is embellished with a jeweled green and pink EdenFantasys company logo. It’s quite tastefully done. The top of the pouch closes with two braided ropes. From the top to the drawstring is about an inch of fabric, so if you wanted to keep it closed you would want to store toys that were about 9″ long or shorter. Most dildos that people own are going to be suited to fit this bag.

The stitching is exquisite. Not a stray thread or crooked seam to be found. Everything is nicely turned in and finished, giving it a very clean and high quality look. You could certainly bring this along on an overnight trip to your partners, maybe even tucking a few condoms, a toothbrush and some panties inside.

The only real downside I can notice is that the price for the embellished bag is a bit much when compared to the price of the plain bag. I happened to get an unembellished one with a glass dildo from EdenFantasys this week and it is exactly the same in size and quality as this one, so it’s just a matter of taste and money. The plain bag is, of course, more discreet, but this one is really, very pretty. My husband kept making remarks about how the price was too much for a bag until we got this one in the mail and he said ‘Oh, that? That’s worth the price.’

Boys, huh?

I don’t foresee you needing to launder the bag very frequently, but if you do, do it by hand and let it air dry. It’s stitched well and I’m sure it would stand up to the washer, but you don’t want the material to fade or the embellishments to come off.

Are you looking for something pretty to tuck a toy or two in? Something discreet to travel with? This really is a great product. If you’re needs are for something a little bigger, there’s plenty of other storage available at EdenFantasys.

Review: Europa

Tybo Europa available at MyPleasure.com

The friendly folks at MyPleasure.com, a leading online retailer of sex toys,  were kind enough to send me another toy to review. This time I received the Tybo Europa, which is a small, metal clitoral vibrator. It’s actually one of the only metal toys I own, aside from the Pure Wand. Unlike the Pure Wand, which is made of stainless steel, the Europa is made from a nickel plated aluminum alloy. Metal toys are excellent for temperature play. They can be placed in the fridge or a bowl of cool water to add a chill or placed in a bowl of warm water to heat things up. I noticed that the vibrator actually got really hot, matching my body temperature, as I used it.

It came in a sleek, black box with silver lettering, housed in soft foam. When I opened it the first thought I had was that it looked kind of like those mini-metal flashlights. It’s silver with a wide red stripe in the center. It’s only 5″ long and 3/4″ in diameter. There’s a small metal cone-thing that creates the flashlight look, but it comes off. I’m assuming it is intended to be used as a stand or keep the on-button from being pressed accidentally. It does transmit the vibrations slightly, so I guess you could use it for that if you wanted.

Both of the silver ends twist off completely and have black, rubber o-rings protecting the single AA battery compartment from water. It’s completely water-proof, so it can be used in the shower or tub and isn’t a pain in the butt to clean. One end has ‘TYBO’ engraved onto it. This is the on/off button. Pressing it in causes a nearly silent vibration. It’s only got one setting, which I think is kind of a con for such a pricey toy, but it is a strong setting. If you crave intense power for orgasms you may need to look elsewhere, but this should be suited for most women. I found it’s best used for foreplay or discreet masturbation. Since it’s so small and silent, it could be tucked into your purse and used when you’re feeling adventurous. It can also be used to tease the nipples, testicles, anus (but for Pete’s sake, do not put it in your butt, just outside!), and especially on the clitoris and labia. The combination of temperature play and vibration is pretty fun.

Think you might want to try one out for yourself? You can get them at MyPleasure.com along with many other safe sex toys!

Thanks so much MyPleasure.com for sending me this to review.

Review: Platinum Edition Personal Pleasurizer

My second California Exotics Sexpert product for review is their Platinum Edition Personal Pleasurizer. When it came in the mail I was pretty underwhelmed, but like a good sex toy reviewer I headed to the shower to give it a fair shot. I was very surprised with how much I enjoyed it. Despite the floppiness of the g-spot end, it was quite stimulating. I even squirted a bit!

Onto the review, shall we?

The Personal Pleasurizer is a two-piece set. A small, plastic vibrator with a TPR, dual stimulator sleeve. The g-spot angle is easily recognizable. The clitoral stimulator is a series of short, soft, raised nubs. It’s available in a shimmery pink or purple. I got the purple. It’s more of a blue-ish purple than a red-ish purple. When you remove the sleeve, the top of the plastic vibrator is white.

The plastic vibrator runs on two-AAA batteries. There’s a rubber washer that prevents water from getting into the battery compartment, making it completely water proof. Whether you need to masturbate in the shower because of privacy issues or you just enjoy making bath time a little more fun, this is a great option for that.

It’s quite the little buzzer, producing the powerful surface vibrations you expect from plastic vibrators. It can be turned on via a small, clear button on the very base of the toy. Pressing it repeatedly cycles you through all of the functions until you eventually shut it off again. The functions are low, med, high, (all three are pretty strong) and 6 varied pulsing settings.

The TPR sleeve is very floppy, bendable and squishy. Most of the best g-spot stimulators are firm and give lots of pressure, yet somehow this one gives quite an enjoyable sensation. The insertable portion is about 2 1/2″ long and only about 1″ in diameter. It’s an excellent size for beginners. As many toys as I’ve tried, I loved it too, so I guess anyone could enjoy it.

The sleeve and plastic vibrator overlap enough to give you a sizable handle to grasp. This makes thrusting and rocking easier and more enjoyable. It’s pretty much the perfect size to cradle in your hand and keep your thumb on the button to change functions as needed.  The most pleasurizing (heeee) way I found to use it was to start off with short, quick thrusts to stimulate the g-spot and get pretty turned on. Once my clit came out of hiding I could enjoy the tiny nubs. The sleeve does transmit the vibrations fairly well, but I found myself needing to just snatch it off and use the firm plastic to finish the job. Then again, I usually need loads of pressure to orgasm.

Cleaning is easy, peasy. Antibacterial soap and warm water or a commercial toy cleaner will work fine. It’s waterproof so you don’t have to worry with keeping anything from being submerged. If you do peel the sleeve off to use the vibrator on it’s own, be sure to clean both pieces well, including inside the sleeve, and allow them to dry well before replacing the sleeve. You don’t want to trap any moisture in there and cause any funky growths. If you want to share it with a partner use a condom.

Want one of your own? You can pick it up at EdenFantasys. If it’s not quite what you’re looking for you can check out the other dual stimulation vibrators available or any of their hundreds of other sex toys!

Thanks so much to Cal Exotics for sending me this product to review!

Review: Lace & Mesh Babydoll

It’s been a while since I reviewed any lingerie. It’s not for lack of want to, it’s just that I’m running out of options in my size. Recently Coquette’s Lace and Mesh Babydoll with G-string became available on EdenFantasys. It came in a 1X/2X, so I ordered myself one. It’s flattering, but I have a few issues with the set. I’ll get to those later.

Babydolls and chemises are one the most flattering styles of lingerie. They tend to camouflage the tummy while accentuating the curves by gently grazing them with soft, silky material. Similar to gowns, but much shorter. This particular babydoll is no different. The skirt on the bottom is amazing. It has two layers of a black, semi-sheer material. The top layer is about two inches shorter than the bottom. Each layer is accented with hot pink stitching along the hem. It hangs very sexily against the body, even over the bits that most women are self conscious about.

The bust is a little disappointing. While it’s gorgeous, as far as design goes, it’s still lacking in the support and comfort department. There’s a band of hot pink, lace stretched across the front, just under the bust and each cup is half covered with this same lace, just slightly ruched. Outlining the top of the pink lace on each cup is a strip of black lace with a hot pink, satin ribbon woven through and a thick, hot pink bow in the center. It would seem that Coquette has a fondness for bows recently.

So, my issues? Well, the construction and design is just off. It’s kind of like a halter styled bra, only a very not a supportive one. There is a bra strap across the back with three sets of hooks, but the material is so stretchy that it doesn’t do anything for the breasts. Especially those with larger breasts, which this particular piece is suppose to fit. The cups are huge. I wear a 42 DD or a 40DDD, depending on the brand, and there is still room for another cup size worth of boob when I wear this thing. I think they tried to fudge on the cups by making it a halter style babydoll instead of giving it actual straps, but that actually makes it a whole lot worse. Anyone with large breasts knows how heavy they are and all a halter top does is put the weight of two, gigantic boulders on your neck muscles. It’s painful and it’s very hard to think about sex when you’ve got material digging into your neck as the weight of your breasts pull down on it.

They put so much detail into the piece and it still looks flattering, but I’m just disappointed. They could have reinforced the back strap a bit, specifically the larger sizes, considering bras over a C cup start having more than two hooks. Most of the support for your breasts is suppose to be in the band, and if they would have added hooks accordingly (three hooks for the XL, four for the 1X/2X) as well as put in some less stretchy material on the band, the weight of your breasts would be better supported and spread out, rather than straining your neck.

The babydoll comes with a matching g-string. It’s pretty, but it’s like all other sets. The bottom probably isn’t going to fit you. I was able to wear it, and I do think I prefer g-strings to thongs, as far as comfort goes. I’ve got a mom pooch though, and I never knew if the front panel should go over it or sit under it. Either way, it doesn’t quite look right to me. My husband thinks it’s great, so I guess that’s all that matters. The panties are a black, stretchy material with the same hot pink, lace, overlaid on the front panel. There are two ‘strings’ that go around each hip. Pretty, but not sturdy. Some of the threads snapped the first time I pulled the panties on and immediately started coming undone around the hips. No one would notice just by looking at you wearing it, but it’s there and it’s only a matter of time until they become unusable.

The measurements are:

Bust – 22″ laid flat (44″ around). Doesn’t stretch on the front.
Underbust: 20″ laid flat (40″ around), 24″ stretched (48″ around)
Length: 21″

The hip measurements are irrelevant, though I have 52″ hips and you can see how it fits in the side view picture. The set is made of 82% nylon and 18% spandex. The skirt feels like a high quality microfiber. The top feels like bathing suit material and the cups are padded like a bathing suit top. You’ll want to hand was it, as with all lingerie, and let it air dry. Using a washer or dryer will damage the material.

Visually, the set is gorgeous and will flatter the majority of body types. Structurally, parts of it are lacking that cause a lot of discomfort, particularly for women with large breasts. You can pick it up at EdenFantasys for a very reasonable price. They’ve got a large selection of lingerie to browse if it’s not quite what you’re looking for, and and even bigger selection of sex toys. Why don’t you go check it out?

Find Your Perfect Sex Toy

I was recently contacted by MyPleasure.com about working with them. They had an interesting new website feature that has been designed with the help of Dr. Gardos, their resident sex educator, to help whittle down the overwhelming number of choices available on their site.

My job?

I was to choose two products from their selection of safe sex toys. One with the aid of their expert shopping tool and a comparable product I wanted, on my own. The two products I selected were both manufactured by JimmyJane  and used for sensual massage. Through the shopping tool I selected the Afterglow Massage Candle. It was actually listed as an option for a bridal gift, and I’ve been married for over 8 years. I was playing around with the tool for a while though, switching up my options until I finally found something I thought I hadn’t already tried.

All the JimmyJane products I’ve tried this far have arrived in sophisticated, simple packaging and the products themselves were very high quality. The Afterglow candle is no different. I can certainly see why this was under the selection of bridal gifts, because it looks so elegant it would be perfect for such an occasion.

So what about the candle itself? Well, I opened the box and discovered a small booklet with instructions(in about 6 different languages) on how to use the candle, the ingredients, and a few pictures of their most popular products. There was a simple application brush, featuring the JimmyJane logo, the glass candle and a small box of matches. I have purchased a few different brands of massage candles in the past and none of them came with matches. This earns them extra points in my book because not everyone owns a lighter. It’s nice to not have to run out and pick anything up (be it batteries, matches or whatever) in order to be able to use a new product.

I chose the bourbon scented candle. It smells sort of masculine, like a sweet musk. The description of the scent on the box says “Smoky and oaken, with a caramel finish.” It pretty much nails it. It’s perfumed enough to smell pleasant while burning and leave a light fragrance behind after your massage. The candle needs to burn for about 20-30 minutes for a full body massage. The candle should last for about 42 hours of burning or several massages. I’ve barely made a dent and I’ve used it for two full body massages.

It spread easily over the skin, leaving a soft, silky feeling. It felt a bit sticky and oily afterwards, but it absorbed after several minutes. I haven’t used the brush yet because I’ve read that it clumps up with the oil and isn’t any good after one use. We prefer pouring it anyhow. Massage candles are great for a warm, relaxing rub down.

The product I chose on my own was the JimmyJane Beyond Euphoric massage lotion. It comes in a simple, plastic 4 oz bottle. The lotion has a very light feel to it when rubbed onto the skin. It’s also kind of refreshing and tingly. I’m not sure which ingredients cause this, probably the citrus oil. It smells like there’s some ginger in it, but I can’t find it in the list of ingredients. It doesn’t work so well for massage because it absorbs very quickly into the skin, leaving no real lubrication for it. The friction from trying to rub dry skin makes it somewhat uncomfortable. The cooling sensation was pretty interesting though.

In comparison? I enjoyed both products for different reasons. I love getting massages, either way. The candle’s warm, thick oil seem more suitable for a cold night, while the Euphoric lotion’s cooling sensation is incredibly refreshing on a hot, summer night. Both can be used with the JimmyJane ceramic Contour stones and for massages. You’ll just want to use a lighter touch with the lotion and save the deep tissue massage for the candle. The simplistic and sophisticated packaging make these excellent gift choices, and everything matches too so they’d be awesome for a gift basket.

The Find Your Perfect Sex Toy expert shopping tool was easy to use. You select the answers to a few simple questions, narrowing down what sort of products you’re interested in with some of the best matches the site has. If you’re new to the idea of purchasing sex toys and sensual products, this can be a great tool to help get you started.  If you already have an idea of what you’re looking for, MyPleasure.com is a clean and easy to navigate website. You can use it for just shopping or do a little browsing through some of their educational guides or sex toy Q&A pages.

If you’re interested in either the Afterglow candle (available in several different scents) or the Beyond Euphoric lotion, both are available at MyPleasure.com. If you’d like to try out the expert shopping tool, you can find it here. If you just want to browse some of their safe sex toys and find something on your own, you can do that too. Either way, I’m sure you’ll find visiting MyPleasure.com will actually be your pleasure.

Review: Expert Guide to Fellatio

Expert Guide to Fellatio at Babeland.com $35.00

Let me start out by saying that I have never been a huge fan of porn. I wasn’t opposed to it and I liked the idea of incorporating it into sex with Chad or masturbation, but the more I watched the more I became turned off by it all. As I became more involved in reviewing sex toys I started stumbling across instructional videos for all sorts of things and I also heard wonderful things about Tristan Taormino as a director. A few weeks ago Babeland offered up her Expert Guide to Oral Sex: Fellatio. It’s the second half of a two-part series on oral sex. The first part being based on Cunnilingus.

If you didn’t already know, fellatio is the more technical term for oral sex that is preformed on a penis. It’s also known as a blow job or giving head. This movie is an instructional DVD directed and narrated by Tristan Taormino, a popular feminist porn director who is very well known within the reviewing community.

The movie begins in a ‘fellatio workshop’ with Tristan dressed professionally and talking to the small crowd about the penis. She has charicature styled drawings and diagrams of it that she uses to describe all of the parts of the male anatomy. No part of the penis goes unmentioned and she even has a special diagram to discuss uncircumcised penises. Once she’s done she invites Roxy Deville (who is absolutely, stunningly gorgeous) and Christian (who is easy on the eyes as well) in for a brief interview. She discusses the different things that they enjoy about fellatio and what they think makes it better. Then she asks Christian to get ‘a little more naked’ so they can demonstrate some techniques on real anatomy for the work shop.

Yes.

Roxy gives Christian a blow job in front of about 15 people in a workshop. I guess it’s not too different considering all of the cameramen and directors on a porn set, but it still was a little awkward. The film focuses, most of the time, on what’s going on during the blow job and Tristan is speaking the entire time about what should be going on. She talks about using lube and your hands to get him worked up, teasing him with your tongue and lips and really enjoying what you’re doing. They occasionally pull the camera back and you see that Tristan is seated on the end of the couch while she’s giving all of the instruction. Roxy follows along with the directions as she’s prompted.

After the workshop, the movie goes into separate, more private settings. Each scene has a brief interview with the actors before they head into the bedroom. Though Tristan isn’t sitting on the end of the bed, she’s still giving instruction throughout each scene. There are also title screens throughout each scene when there is a position change or new technique as well as pop ups with little tips. It’s kind of reminiscent of VH1′s ‘Pop Up Video’. For your first run through, these are great, but the scenes can be watched without the instruction and pop ups easily if you select the right option from the main menu. In this mode the movie watches more like a porn, with each scene finishing with the orgasm. With the instruction on the orgasms are edited to the very end of the entire movie.

In the first bedroom scene, Kaiya Lynn and Alec Knight are paired up to demonstrate various positions you can give blow jobs in. Lindsay Meadows and Marcos Leon show some techniques for uncircumcised penises in the second scene. Alec reappears in the third scene with Adrianna Nicole for some advanced techniques, like deep throating. Roxy and Christian come back for the finale on the edge of a bath tub. In each scene the actors have loads of chemistry together. They genuinely enjoy themselves and it shows.

Some of the awesome features with this movie are, of course, the fact that you can turn off the instruction if you would like to. That way it has a lot of replay value and doesn’t wind up being something you bought and can only use once. You can choose which scenes to watch, so if you’d rather skip to your favorite couple you can do that. There are behind the scenes clips and interviews with the cast. It’s kind of fun to get to know a little more about the actors and actresses and to see what goes on during a porn shoot. My favorite extra is the lube tasting party. Adrianna, Tristan and Kaiya are all sitting on a bed as if they’re at a sleep over, but they’re tasting samples of flavored lubes.

There are three mini-features. Roxy and Christian demonstrate prostate stimulation during a blow job. They showcase a toy designed for it and talk about how to use it. Lindsay and Marcos do a little more playing with his uncircumcised penis. And Adrianna and Alec do one on safer sex, talking about how you can use condoms for blow jobs.

I really enjoyed this movie, which was surprising considering my previous opinion of porn. I liked it so much that I picked up the Expert Guide to the G-Spot from a local store when I was shopping. If you’re curious about ways to pleasure your partner during oral sex or self conscious about anything you’re doing, you can pick up a copy of this at Babeland.com. They’ve also got the Cunnilingus (oral sex preformed on vulvas a.k.a. eating pussy) version as well as a guide to anal sex, the g-spot movie I picked up and other instructional movies. You should head on over and browse their selection of adult DVD’s!

Thanks so much, Babeland.com, for sending me this product to review!

Review: Love³ Kit

Love³ Kit from GoodVibes.com $26.00

The Love³ Kit is a small box of sample sized products that would be great to bring along on a short, romantic trip. I requested mine from Good Vibes about two weeks ago and was a little disappointed when it arrived. Not due to the quality of the products, but because in the intense Georgia heat, my massage bars had all melted. I had heard some other people experienced something similar, having their bars arrive a little squishy and misshapen, but mine weren’t salvageable. They were completely melted all over everything and the entire kit smelled of the mint bar.

This, of course, wasn’t the fault of the manufacturer or Good Vibes. No one can control the weather. It’s just a factor to consider when making purchases. If you live in a place where it gets very hot during the summer, you should avoid ordering products that are intended to melt at temperatures it may reach while it’s shipping. The massage bars were intended to melt into the skin when rubbed against it, so around 97 or 98 degrees (make sure you factor in the heat index too). I did have bits and pieces of the bars that I let the kids rub into their hands and I rubbed some onto my arms, so I can vouch that they would be wonderful to use for massages if the temperature outside didn’t melt them. The smells aren’t terrible over powering either, aside from the mint.

The bars also managed to destroy the mini-feather duster that was intended to be used with the body dust. I tried wiping it off and rinsing, but it was caked into the feathers so there wasn’t any fixing it. I do have other feather dusters that I was able to use and you can sprinkle it with your fingers, a silk cloth or tissue. The dust comes in a little ziploc baggie that is a little difficult to use. Possibly because mine was covered in melted massage bars. I wiped it off but the top was still sticking together a lot so I poured it into a small, silk pouch that I had put honey dust in before. The dust has a very light consistency and flavor, but it didn’t freak out my allergies the way the Kama Sutra honey dust had. I would say it tastes a lot like cotton candy. It can be sprinkled anywhere on your partner’s body that you want to kiss (except inside the vagina). Put some behind the knees, on the nipples or along the small of their back and gently lick it off.

Unaffected by the melted bars, three bottles of lotion and oil, as well as a sample packet of lubricant survived. Each bottle is a half of an ounce, which is the perfect size to take along for an overnight trip. The French vanilla ‘knead me’ massage lotion had a cleaner smell to it than other vanilla scented products I’ve tried. Usually vanilla smells warm to me. This had a vanilla ice cream sort of scent. It rubbed in nicely and left my skin feeling silky. I use it more as a hand cream and keep it in my purse, rather than use it for foreplay. It could certainly be used for that though.

The pomegranate mint oil can be used in the tub or to rub on the skin. I can’t even detect the mint when I smell it. It smells light and fruity. My favorite way to use this is to pour a small amount into the tub before a long, hot bath. It soaks into the skin well and leaves it soft and silky. There’s also a lickable oil that’s flavored like creme brulee. If you’ve ever had creme brulee, you know it’s delicious. There’s no substitute for it, but it does add a tasty surprise wherever it’s applied. You can dab it on yourself before your partner arrives or use is during your foreplay.

I enjoyed using the parts of the kit I was able to, and I’m sure I would have loved the massage bars too. If you’re interested in picking up your own Love³ Kit you can get it at GoodVibes.com. Just make sure you check the local weather forecast so your kit arrives safely!

Thanks so much to Good Vibrations for sending me this kit!

Review: Glass Ben Wa Balls

Glass Flowers Ben Wa Balls at the Adult Toy Shoppe $12.99

I have a pretty large toy collection. Believe it or not, none of those toys are glass. Nor have I ever tried anything glass. Not for lack of want to or anything, but just because I hadn’t gotten around to it yet. My very first glass toy, that the Adult Toy Shoppe was kind enough to send my way, is a set of gorgeous glass ben wa balls. The set I received are made of a clear glass and have yellow flowers suspended in the center. They’re very, very pretty. They’re about an inch in diameter and they come in their own pretty little storage box.

Ben wa balls are sometimes used as vaginal exercisers. There are many styles available. This particular set, as well as any set that is two separate balls, can be used during sex as well. You can wear them around the house while you’re doing chores and practice your kegels or you can slip them in for a little extra stimulation during masturbation and sex. I wouldn’t wear them out of the house because they’re pretty small and sort of heavy. I’m sure it’s possible for them to fall out.

We tried them during sex and I wasn’t able to tell a huge difference. Chad said the added texture was kind of interesting and felt nice. I enjoyed it more when he used one of them as sort of an extension to his finger, curling it around and pressing the glass ball into my g-spot. Glass is great for temperature play, so it’s fun to chill them in some cold water for a bit before inserting them. You can also warm them by rolling them around in your hands or letting them sit in a bowl of warm water before use. Once they warm up they’ll maintain the temperature and be very comfortable to use.

They’re easy to clean. Just rinse them off with antibacterial soap and water or use a commercial toy cleaner on them. They can be soaked in a 10% bleach solution to sanitize them. Do not put them in your butt. You won’t get them out. In fact, it can be a little bit difficult to remove them from your vagina, so you may need to ask your partner to help or squat and push to help retrieve them. Be gentle and store them in their protective box. They will scratch and chip if they’re not taken care of and if that happens they are not safe to insert. I had to send my first set back to the company because they arrived with a small scratch. They’re a nice set, but glass is something that requires gentler handling.

Overall, they’re a nice addition to most collections. They will help strengthen your kegel muscles and they would be a fun surprise for a partner. Review: Japanese Silkrope

35" Japanese Silkrope at PinkCherry.com $14.99

I’ve been looking at gorgeous pictures of Japanese Rope Bondage over the past few months. I thought it looked beautiful but was unsure of whether or not it was something I was interested in. Chad and I aren’t into hardcore bondage. We’ve got a couple of sets of cuffs and stuff that we use occasionally. I managed to snag a book a couple of months back that teaches some of the techniques but I didn’t have any rope to try them out with. Thankfully, PinkCherry.com solved my problem by sending me the Japanese Silkrope kit.

It comes with a 35 foot length of rope and a blindfold. The blindfold isn’t anything spectacular, but it will get the job done. One side feels kind of like an umbrella and the other has a bit of a silkier texture. Though the rope is available in purple or black, the blindfolds with both sets are black. It has a very stretchy elastic band that should accommodate most head sizes and be comfortable to wear.

The rope, as I mentioned before, is 35 feet long. I requested the purple one because I’ve got some purple Liberator gear that I thought it would match nicely with. When I got it I was not disappointed. The shade of purple is almost exactly like the photograph on PinkCherry.com. It is lovely next to my fair skin tone and my husband’s olive skin tone. I think sharp color contrasts help with the beauty of Japanese bondage. Each end of the rope is finished with a bit of silver one-sided tape. I haven’t attempted to take it off  because it doesn’t appear that the ends have been finished so it may unravel the rope. I also feel like it’s important to leave them there to indicate where the ends of the rope are when your partner is bound. As pretty and fun as bondage is, it has risks and you want to be able to remove the restraints quickly if there is an emergency.

The rope is very, very soft. Unless you’re searching for an abrasive rope for more hardcore play, you’ll want to go with a silkrope. It has a pliable and comfortable texture that’s great for beginners. I’m sure more seasoned bondage players would appreciate this as well. It’s 1/4″ thick which is a very manageable thickness for elaborate bondage. At 35 feet long, it will work for several different techniques, but you may find yourself needing additional lengths of rope. It all depends on the size of the person you’re tying up and the style of the bondage you’re attempting. My husband is about 5’10 and 220 lbs with a thick chest. I was able to do a fairly elaborate upper body bondage on him with a bit of rope left to spare. I would wager that you could do either upper body or lower body with one length of rope. If you were looking to do something very elaborate you might want two lengths and for a full body bondage maybe three or four.

As with any BDSM type of play you will need to take precautions to avoid hurting your partner. Make sure you have a comfortable place for them to sit, lie or stand. Take care not to make them lose their balance while you’re tying them up because they won’t be able to catch themselves with their hands tied. Don’t tie anything too tightly or leave your partner tied up for too long. Circulation may be an issue if so, and you may need to take extra precautions if your partner has any medical conditions that cause them to have poor circulation. Keep a pair of scissors handy in case something goes wrong so that you can quickly remove the rope. Be sure to communicate with your partner about how they’re feeling and if you’re the one being tied up make sure you let them know if you’re not okay. Just do your research and be careful!

If you’re interested in getting your own silkrope, it’s available at PinkCherry.com (in black and purple). They’ve also got a nice selection of bondage and restraint gear for beginners and advanced users alike.

Thanks so much to PinkCherry.com for sending me this item to review. I had a lot of fun with it!
