Polka-Dot Mesh Corset

I have taken a really big liking to buying myself sexy lingerie over the last year. I actually purchased this particular corset last Christmas from Eden Fantasys. I got it to surprise Chad as he had never seen me in a corset before. I’d never been fortunate enough to own one until then.

The Polka-Dot Mesh Corset is very similar to the Red Bow Mesh Corset I reviewed a few months back (and another one I’ll be reviewing very soon). The material is comfortable and stretchy and the basic design is similar. This one is solid black, with plastic boning, satin bows and lots of ruffles to help create that hourglass look. The thing that’s awesome about the mesh corsets is that you can achieve the sexy curves while still being able to breathe.

One of the main differences I noted between the two corsets is that the Polka-Dot Mesh one has a thick, elastic band stitched in along the waist. I feel like this helped significantly with shaping the body. It also makes the corset fit more true to size, at least according to the measurements on Coquette’s size chart. I believe most of the women who reviewed the red one noted that you should order a size down with that one. I’m glad that this one is a bit more snug because of my recent weight loss. I’ve had to pass along my Bow Mesh corset to a new, happy recipient, but the Polka-Dot one still fits me very well.

Besides giving you a cinched waist, this corset also covers up the tummy. This is trouble zone for a lot of women, especially if you’re like me and have the left over mommy pooch from pregnancy. The length of this style of corset goes down far enough to hide that for me. It’s perfect when combined with your favorite pair of sexy panties and thigh highs. Why thigh highs? Because it comes with 4 garter straps.

My biggest issue with this piece is the lack of breast support. Corsets are suppose to push your breasts up, but the cups on this (and other mesh Coquette corsets I’ve tried) are just flat. If you’ve got small or perky boobs, you might be fine, but those of us with large breasts will be a bit disappointed. I actually think this problem would be really easily remedied with the addition of an underwire and perhaps a smaller plastic boning along the tops of the cups. Just enough to help create some definition and support.

The other annoyance is that it’s closed with a million tiny little hooks and eyes. If you don’t know what those are, they’re bra hooks, only these go all the way down your back. This can be difficult to arrange a surprise with because you’ll have to fasten it yourself and if you can’t dislocate your shoulders you’ll have to do it where you can reach them and twist it around. I have done it this way each time I wear it, so it is doable, even when you’re stretching it to it’s maximum capacity. Otherwise, you can have your partner help you put it on.

Like a bra, there are multiple rows of hooks. This means it will last a long time. Once the elastic is a little worn out (or you’ve lost 23lbs), you can switch the next row of hooks. As infrequently as you would wear a corset like this, you shouldn’t have to worry about it wearing out at all.

I commented on how it was accurately sized, so I guess it would be good to talk about measurements. When I first purchased it I was in a 42DD bra and wore a 1X/2X or 16/18 top. I weighed about 268 lbs. It fit, snugly, but it was still very flattering. Now I am in a 38DDD bra and wear a L/XL top or 14/16 (depending on the brand or cut, of course). I also weigh 245 lbs. It fits more comfortably now.

All measurements will stretch quite a bit, aside from the length. So it does fit a wide range of sizes.

I’ve cared for it by hand washing it after every few wears and lying it flat to dry. There are ribbons, just like skirts, on the sides that you can hang it with. I prefer to hang it because stuffing it into a drawer flattens the bows and ruffles a bit. It stores well either way, you’ll just need to take the time to fluff it a bit after it’s been in a drawer.

All in all, it’s a really great corset. It’s really sexy and flattering, it’s sturdy and well made and it’s even cute enough to wear out if you were so inclined. Emma Stone even rocked one in her most recent movie ‘Easy A’!

Scene 1: Madison Young and Danny Wylde. Madison is a tiny strawberry blonde who is quite vocal and appreciate of everything on screen. Danny is a lean and slightly muscled blonde who has a noticeable amount of chemistry with Madison. He spends the scene finger fucking her and lavishing her clit with plenty of attention. If I get oral I prefer it with some penetration. This scene was probably #2 on my list of favorites.

Scene 2: Jolene Parton and a guy . Both of them are dark haired and pretty sexy. This scene has it’s own steamy chemistry. It’s more slow paced with a lot of eye contact. Eventually she ends up riding his face and giving him a hand job, which is pretty fucking hot.

Scene 3: Madison Young and Mickey Mod. Mickey is a slender, light-skinned guy with glasses who has Madison whimpering the entire time he’s licking her clit. They have a bit more chemistry than the first scene, but it’s kind of ruined by Madison’s very weird moaning. The scene has a lot of potential but then she suddenly does some sort of siren or whiny dog noise that made me burst out laughing. Seriously.

Scene 4: Chocolate Chip and a red headed woman. This is one of the only two scenes to use barriers, which I actually preferred. The red head is the one performing oral sex on Chocolate Chip, who seems a little uncomfortable to be on the receiving end. Black latex gloves are worn for manual stimulation and small sheet of saran wrap is laid on the vulva during oral stimulation. It was kind of hard to get into this scene because Chocolate just did not seem to be really enjoying it.

Scene 5: A middle-aged couple. It was kind of refreshing to see people who didn’t have tight young bodies on screen. There was a lot more kissing in this scene than in the other scenes and I think that’s what made the scene. They looked very comfortable with each other and there was even some laughing that lightened things up.

Scene 6: Chocolate Chip and the red head again. This time, Chocolate is on the giving end. This was the hottest scene. More barriers were used (black latex gloves and a pink dental dam). Chocolate seems a lot more comfortable with herself when she’s in control rather than when she’s suppose to be relaxing and enjoying herself.

The entire movie is 57 minutes long, with maybe 25 or so of that being spent on the porn scenes. Dr. Queen and the Q&A’s are scattered through the movie in between each scene. I felt like it was a decent balance between educational and sexual. The Bow Mesh Corset by Coquette is gorgeous. It’s red with lots of pretty black details. The boning is black. There are little black bows randomly scattered all over the place. There’s a lot of thick, ruffling around the bottom of the corset and along the cups. Plus there are 3 larger black, satin bows. One of them is centered between the breasts and then there are two at the bottom over where the garter straps hook on. All of these ribbons and ruffles might be overwhelming or unappealing to some, but it suits me just fine. I love the really feminine look of this piece.

The Bow Mesh Corset is very well made. It’s on the higher end of the spectrum for plastic boned corsets. The plastic boning isn’t as supportive as a metal boned corset is, but it’s flattering to most body shapes. The cups are not very supportive, which was a common complaint about the Polka-Dot Mesh Corset by many. I had the same issue with that corset, but this one seems to have larger cups so it doesn’t make it look like you’re crushing them with your breasts.

The sizing seems to run a bit on the large side, which would be great if this didn’t have hook and eye closures. It would be a bit more customizable if there was a traditional ribbon closure. With the bra style closure you’ll have to be more attentive to the sizing. I wear a 42DD bra and a 16/18 shirt. I picked the 1X/2X size and it’s a bit looser than I would like, but it gets the job done regardless. I feel like if it was just a little tighter, or even if they added one or two more sets of hooks (it’s got two sets about 1/4″ apart) that it would be perfect. The way it is now it just doesn’t quite have enough shaping.

Ruffling along the bottom

The length is perfect for me. I have a long torso and find myself complaining a lot about t-shirts being too short. I’ve also got the dreaded mom pooch and stretch marks. You know, the one where you’ve got this extra skin left over from pregnancy? The length of this and the ruffling along the bottom really help camouflage this area. It’s the only place on my body that I’m terribly self conscious about, and I know that a lot of women are concerned about their bellies too. This corset is flattering and should boost the confidence of any woman. If you’ve got the same sort of body issues that I have and you’re looking for a corset, this style by Coquette is the one I would recommend. Hands down.

Measurements
Bust: 39″ (laid flat and unhooked) stretches to about 44″
Length: The hooks and eyes are 13″ long, with the extra ruffles it’s about 16″ long. From the top of the cup to the bottom in front is 18″ long.

Even with the measurements, it’s very forgiving. I would say that it would fit someone who wears a 46/48 bra size easily and comfortably. I wear a 42 and it’s fairly loose on me.

The Bow Mesh Corset is made of mesh and satin. It’s delicate, like most lingerie, so you’ll want to hand wash it or wash it on the delicate cycle. I would recommend draping it over a shower rod or lying it flat to dry. The plastic boning will conform to your shape after enough wear, and the dryer, even on low, may warp the plastic rods. It comes with 4 garter straps that attach to via these little rubber and metal clips. I’d remove the garter straps when washing and hand wash them separately, just to keep the metal bits from rusting. Also, the hooks and eyes are coated with a black paint that will scrape off with enough fastening. I don’t think that it will take away anything from the aesthetics of the piece, but machine washing may quicken the wearing off of that paint. Store it in a drawer, loosely, to avoid flattening the ruffling and the bows. They’re not very pretty when they’re squished. Other than that, just enjoy how great this corset will make you look!

Ah, senior prom. One of the many over-rated events of every high school students life. I remember mine just like it was yesterday. I just shoved him out of the car and drove home. He made me feel awful all night. I dragged my tired body to bed and tried to get some sleep. I couldn’t miss Sunday school the next morning and it was already midnight. Around 3 a.m. I woke up screaming and crying because my knees were killing me. I guess dancing in those heels on the wooden dance floor had really hurt them. My grandmother rubbed some Aspercreme on them and I took some tylenol and passed out. So why am I writing this? Well, right now a high school in Jackson, Mississippi is refusing to have a prom for it’s students. They offer a discounted price to couples for purchasing two tickets at once and single people were going with their friends to get a cheaper ticket. A problem that’s easily solved by -not- penalizing single people for wanting to attend the proms without a date and giving everyone the same damn price for every ticket they buy. Constance contacted the ACLU and now she has an attorney. Rather than changing their policies and allowing Constance to bring her girlfriend to the prom, the school decided they’d just cancel the prom. This has resulted in the rest of the student body blaming her for ‘ruining their senior year’. Because it’s not the school’s fault for having a bigoted, homophobic policy. It’s Constance’s fault for trying to rock the boat.

Constance McMillen deserves to go to her prom with whoever she wants to go with! Every high schooler deserves to go to their senior prom! What the Itawanba County School District is doing is absolutely ridiculous and uncalled for. Being a stay-at-home mom is boring. No offense to other women who do it, but my brain needs more stimulation than this. I love my kids and I love spending time with them, but being cooped up in a house 24/7, doing the same repetitive chores is starting to get to me. Unfortunately, it’s a necessary evil. Due to work schedules and school meetings, date night won’t happen until some time next week.
