30 Day Meme – round 2

I started the 30 days of letters project and I could not finish it. It just seemed really redundant after about 6 or 7 letters. I mean someone you wish you talked to more and someone you’ve lost touch with, same thing. I may still finish some of the letters. I don’t reckon you need to write them in 30 days. You still wrote 30 days worth of letters if you wrote 30 of them and each was written on a different day.

I’m going to try this 30 day meme(courtesy of Jenn who got it from someone else, who got it from someone else…) in the hopes it sparks some inspiration to blog. I have things I’d like to write about but I’m so busy cooking healthier meals, exercising and recording all of this information that trying to hack out something worth reading is overwhelming. I’m sure that once I’ve learned more about calories and the kids are in school it will be easier to focus. Or maybe I need some of that vitamin that makes you focus better.

Anywho, here’s the meme (since Heather had to google the last one since I’m a loser and didn’t post it).

The 30 Day Meme
Day 1 – A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was.
Day 2 – A photo of something you ate today.
Day 3 – Your idea of the perfect first date.
Day 4 – Your favorite photograph of your best friend.
Day 5 – A photo of yourself two years ago.
Day 6 – A photo of an animal you’d love to keep as a pet.
Day 7 – Your dream wedding.
Day 8 – A song to match your mood.
Day 9 – A photo of the item you last purchased.
Day 10 – A photo of our favorite place to eat.
Day 11 – What’s in your makeup bag?
Day 12 – A photograph of the town you live in.
Day 13 – Your favorite musician and why?
Day 14 – A TV show you’re currently addicted to.
Day 15 – Something you don’t leave the house without.
Day 16 – Your celebrity crush.
Day 17 – A photo of you and your family.
Day 18 – Something you crave a lot.
Day 19 – Another picture of yourself.
Day 20 – The meaning behind your blog name.
Day 21 – A photo of something that makes you happy.
Day 22 – A letter to someone who has hurt you recently.
Day 23 – 15 facts about you.
Day 24 – A photo of something that means a lot to you.
Day 25 – What’s in your purse?
Day 26 – A photo of somewhere you’ve been to.
Day 27 – A picture of you last year and now and how have you changed since then?
Day 28 – Your favorite movie.
Day 29 – Something you could never get tired of doing.
Day 30 – A photograph of youself today + three good things that have happened in the past 30 days.

Now I’ve got to find my camera so I can take a picture. I hope to post Day 1 this evening.

Someone I Want to Meet

Hello, Molly!

I am not a person who really enjoys meeting new people. I don’t have any celebrities I obsess over because I realize the persona in front of the crowd isn’t necessarily who they really are. Even if it is, I merely appreciate them for their contribution to my entertainment. I’m not terribly inspired by any of them or any politicians. But I reckon it doesn’t have to be an actual person. I could want to meet someone in a book, right? Right.

Mrs. Weasley,

Hi! I absolute adore you and your family. I feel like I can relate to your character in the Harry Potter books so much. A woman who adores her family and tries to juggle all of their crazy schedules and personalities. Trying to balance discipline with allowing the kids to be who they are. I feel like I would love being your neighbor or best friend. Our kids would adore each other (well, if we had met a few years ago when they were all a bit younger).

If I can’t be your friend, I’d settle for being your daughter! I’m about the age of your older boys and you only have one girl. I might not blend in with my brown hair, but I wouldn’t mind letting people know I was adopted. I would love brothers and a sister like the ones in the Weasley home.

Now that I’ve let everyone see how much of a nerd I am, I think I can end this letter. It would be really cool to meet Mrs. Weasley, hell most of the Harry Potter characters.

-Sarah

Your Sibling

Day 4 is a letter to your sibling. I’ve got 8 siblings amongst the marriages and such. Somehow my closest sibling wound up being my youngest step-sister. She reads my blog and I’ve sent her the letter to read too.

Kimbolina,

Right after Chad, you’re my best friend. I’m not quite sure how we ended up where we are. You would think that us being step-sisters and having an 8 year age difference, me being the oldest and you being the youngest, that we wouldn’t have wound up the closest of our 7 siblings. Somehow, though, the universe saw it right to give us the kind of bond that no one can break. Not the adults in our lives who constantly tried to plant seeds of hatred between the step-siblings, not the siblings who were jealous of our closeness and not even fighting amongst ourselves because we had our heads stuck so far up our behinds.

I’m glad you have developed such a great bond with my children. The truly adore you. I can only hope that we live close enough when your kids are born that your kids will love Aunt Sarah as much as mine love Aunt Kim. You help me, more than you know, with keeping up the house and keeping the kids in line. I get overwhelmed with the work load so frequently, which I guess is understandable when you’re keeping up with 7 people, but you step in when I start looking like I can’t take it anymore and give me a break. I love having you close by and being a babysitter I can trust with the kids. It’s one less worry on my mind.

I love talking to you, laughing with you and watching you grow into a young adult. You are making such great decisions and you’ve kept a level head. I’m glad we have the same taste in movies, books and music so we can enjoy those things together. I think it’s so fun and awesome that people think we’re twins and that you have passed, multiple times, for E‘s mom so you could handle some of the issues his teacher wanted to talk about.

I’m glad that we can build each other up after people, like our mom, open their mouths and say things about our weight that hurt us. I know it bothers you as much as it bothers me, and it’s nice to have that sounding board to rant to about our frustrations. You exude a confidence that makes me jealous at times. It took me a long time to accept my body the way it is and you have helped in that, a lot. You are a major part of my support system and I would be lost without you.

I love you and appreciate you, so much more than you know.

Love,
Sarah

Review: Ophoria Bliss #8

Bliss #8 on sale at Fascinations for $50.99!

Fascinations sent me the Ophoria Bliss #8 a couple of weeks ago to review. My initial impression was that it was an interesting play on a traditional styled vibrator. I wasn’t really sure I’d enjoy it. This is the second toy that has made me realize that I need to stop judging toys based on their appearance. I’ve tried slimline, traditional vibrators before. Those are usually the first toys most women try. They’re smooth and plastic with really buzzy vibrations. What makes the Bliss #8 different is the texture and material.

It’s made of silicone. Sometimes it still surprises me to feel how supple and comfortable silicone is. I guess it’s hard to break that initial impression of uncomfortable, cheap, plastic vibes. The Bliss #8 has a firm inner core with a slight squish on the outside. The silicone has a drag to it that is amplified by the thick, firm ribs along the shaft. Have you ever played with those little handheld, underwater ring toss games? The ones where you rapidly press buttons to release air bubbles and try to ring poles in the plastic case? The rings on this thing are stacked a lot like that. The rings are very, very firm. Firm as in, they will be uncomfortable without plenty of lube. Even with lube some people won’t like this toy. I’m a lover of all things textured so I really enjoyed the sensations.

We had a pleasant surprise when we used this toy. It happened to be thick enough to use in our harness. I assumed it would fall out since it didn’t have a flared base, but Chad was able to use it on me in the Joque. The thickness, texture and firmness made it painful if it was thrust too quickly. I found it far more pleasurable to take slower, shallow strokes. There’s even plenty of sensation for just grinding against it. It’s about 1 3/4″ in diameter so lube and a work-up may be necessary for some. It’s 8″ long (6 3/4″ insertable).

The base twists off so that you can put the two AA batteries inside. It’s a bit difficult to close and if it’s not closed just right it won’t turn on. There’s a large power button on the very bottom of the toy that cycles through all of the functions. I think there are five (low, med, high, pulsing and roller coaster), but I had a bit of trouble discerning them. I’m not sure if my batteries weren’t charged enough, if I might have gotten a faulty Bliss #8 or if it was just the way it was manufactured. Sometimes I would press the button and it would move to the next function, sometimes it wouldn’t, sometimes it would skip functions. I’ve had a lot of toys with this style of controls do this though, so I think it’s probably just the design. The vibrations still feel good. They’re deep and somewhat strong, but you’ll have to rely on your luck and hope you get the function you want when you turn it on.

For cleaning you can wash it with antibacterial soap and warm water or a commercial toy cleaner. You may need to use a nail brush or old tooth brush to clean between the rings. Textured toys usually require a bit more effort during clean up. It’s splash proof so you shouldn’t have any problem ruining the motor when you clean it, but I wouldn’t submerge it. If you want to share it between partners you should wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution to sanitize it or use condoms over it. Don’t use silicone based lubes with it and don’t put it in your butt. Silicone will ruin the toy and there’s no flared base to prevent it from being sucked into your rectum.

As far as texture and thickness go, this toy is a winner. I really enjoyed it and was able to orgasm from that stimulation alone. If you want one for yourself you can pick it up at Fascinations in hot pink or purple. They’ve got a great selection of toys to choose from if this isn’t quite what you’re looking for. Go check them out!

Thanks Fascinations for sending me this toy to review.

Review: Lia Magic Wand

Lia

It’s been about a month since I received my first assignment as a California Exotics Sexpert. I was sent the Lia Magic Wand to test thoroughly. The Lia is a slender vibrator made of matte silicone. It has four long ripples along it’s body, with the last being curved for g-spot stimulation.

Like most silicone, the vibrations are deep and thuddy rather than buzzy. They seemed to be completely concentrated in the tip of the toy as well. I didn’t notice any in the shaft. Even though they could only be felt in that one part of the toy, they were very intense. A little too intense for my sensitive clit, but perfect for those who need strong pinpointed vibrations to bring them to orgasm. When used internally the vibrations are concentrated on the g-spot. The head of the toy is quite flexible so I found it worked best to thrust quickly with it. You can’t apply pressure with a flexible tip, but you can get a nice drag from the texture of the silicone and the ridges along the shaft.

I typically prefer thicker toys. The Lia is about 1 1/4″ in diameter. It’s a fantastic choice for a beginner or if you need to work up to a larger insertable. I did enjoy thrusting with it, despite it’s slender girth.

Okay, this is going to seem kinda nerdy, but the coolest thing about this toy is the noise it makes when it’s vibrating. It literally makes me think ‘pew pew lasers’. In almost every single one of the ten functions. They’re all intense, but the pattern varies. Cycling through them all sounds like a Star Wars battle in your vagina! This is probably not ideal if you have privacy issues, but I thought it was pretty neat. It runs on two AA batteries and it’s waterproof. Only use water-based lubes so you don’t ruin the silicone. Clean it with antibacterial soap and warm water or a commercial toy cleaner.

If you want your own Lia Magic Wand you can get one from Better Sex. Thanks to California Exotics for sending me such a fun toy to review.

Guest Review: Moonlight Serenade Kit

A great kit for singles or couples.

I’ve been experimenting with anal play off and on for the last few months. Though we’ve tried a few dildos and massagers, we didn’t own a butt plug. When Good Vibrations Sex Toys asked my wife to review the Moonlight Serenade Kit, I was very interested to see how it felt. The kit includes the Bootie Anal Plug, a sample bottle of Please lubricant, and a Screaming O Vibrating Ring.

The plug is smallish, a beginner’s plug most definitely so it was perfect for me. It’s made by Fun Factory and made of 100% silicone. It has kind of a matte feel to it, so it drags a little when you slide it in but helps it stay put as well. It’s firm but squishy and very comfortable to wear. It’s only 1 and 1/8″ at its widest point. The end of the plug is a handle style, rather than a plug or a loop. It fits easily between your cheeks and the curve in the handle makes it even more comfortable to wear around while you do your thing during the day.

The lube is nice and thick when applied and glides well during use, but does get a little sticky after a short period of time. It’s water-based lube and due to the consistency it’s great for use with the butt plug that comes with the kit. I have to admit I failed to taste it and didn’t notice a scent or smell.

Last but not least, the Screaming O Vibrating Ring is a very comfortable and effective love ring. It doesn’t really do much for a cock ring, but it’s not so much meant for that use. It’s listed as being disposable, however, with care and mild soap or cleaner you could use this until the batteries die. The bullet is smaller than your usual clunky bullet yet has more than enough power to get the job done. We used this during sex rather than masturbation and my wife enjoyed this more so than any other love ring we’ve owned. It’s stretchy and comfortable to wear and can be worn under the balls or in front, on top of the penis or below, depending on what your looking for.

Out of all the products, I enjoyed the butt plug the most. Whether used during sex, worn around the house or for masturbation, it’s a high quality plug that fits well and feels good. A tip for use that really made this toy shine: use a bullet or vibrator on the base while your masturbating to cause some ah-mazing sensations. The silicone is firm enough to conduct those wonderful vibes all throughout the plug.

I would definitely recommend this kit to anyone looking to try out some anal play or looking for a super comfortable butt plug. Good Vibrations Sex Toys has it for a very affordable price. Thanks for sending us this great kit to try out!

Review: Perfect Pet

Perfect Pet from Babeland $35.00

I got a new pet from Babeland a few weeks ago. It’s cute, lilac and it purrs like a very excited kitten. Only, it’s not a kitten, it’s a vibrator! (Which is even better because I’m kind of allergic to cats.)

The Perfect Pet is about 5 1/2″ long. The face and body are made of silicone, stopping about 2/3rds of the way down and turning into a white plastic handle. It’s 1 1/2″ thick, which is pretty filling. The end of this vibrator has a slight g-spot curve, but it’s nothing significant. What really makes it feel good are the four ridges that provide textured, rumbling stimulation to the sensitive nerves in the entrance to the vagina. It’s great for short, quick thrusting.

The end, where the batteries go, is adorned with a faux jewel. The jewel twists off to reveal a little plastic battery chamber where you will put the 3 AAA batteries that come with it. Wait, what? Yes, it comes with batteries! Even though it’s a brand I’ve never heard of, they aren’t weak, cheap ones. Far too many toys have the ‘batteries not included’ disclaimer, so I’m sure you can appreciate not having to rush out to the store to pick some up before you get to use yours.

The vibrations are intense. There’s an on/off button on the front that cycles through the four options. They don’t vary in strength, at all, but there are different patterns. The first is steady and strong, then a steady pulse, then a more rapid pulsing. The last setting is a steady vibration followed by four long pulses. Holding onto it for too long makes my hand go numb. I don’t really like those sort of vibrations internally, but I love them on my clitoris. I actually prefer to use the Perfect Pet during sex to stimulate my clit. It’s thick enough that I can put the pressure I need over a wider area and the silicone is soft enough that it doesn’t pinch or cause pain.

Be sure to clean it well with Babeland  toy cleaner or with antibacterial soap and warm water. You can use a condom for sharing or wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution to sanitize it. Don’t put it in your butt, there’s no flared base. Careful while washing it because it’s not waterproof. There’s no rubber o-ring preventing water from seeping into the battery compartment. You’ll want to take extra care, probably with an old toothbrush, to clean the seaming between the silicone and ABS plastic because stuff tends to get trapped there between uses.

My only complaint is that this thing is kind of loud. If you have privacy issues you’ll want to find a quieter toy. Otherwise it’s great. It comes with batteries, it’s nice and strong and it’s made of a wonderful material. If you think it’s something you might like you should get yourself one from Babeland. If you get it before the end of May you can even get two Babeland condoms and two entice lubettes as part of their “Secrets of Good Sex” promotion! There are plenty of great toys that are part of the promotion, so you’re sure to find something you like.

Thanks so much to Babeland for sending me this cute little vibrator to review!

Review: Bedside Lover’s Tool Kit

Bedside Lover's Tool Kit from Vibrator.com $48.00

A couple of months back I was one of the winners of the ‘Vday Naughty Confessions Contest‘. One of the prizes I received was the Kama Sutra Bedside Lover’s Tool Kit from Vibrator.com. The Lover’s Choice Enchanted Evening Kit was out of stock, but John was kind enough to offer me the choice between three alternative prizes.

The tool kit includes Kama Sutra’s Honeysuckle Honey Dust with a small feather applicator, Original Oil of Love, French Vanilla Massage Créme, and Love Liquid Lubricant. Everything comes in a discrete mini-chest adorned with lotus flowers and gems. It can all be stored right on your night stand without any worry of drawing attention to the sensual products it contains inside.

I’ll describe each product individually, beginning with the honey dust.

The dust itself is in a small, clear plastic bag that’s closed with a twist tie. There is a small, black drawstring pouch that you can place the bag in so that it looks a little more appealing. You use the feather applicator to lightly tickle your lover, simultaneously spreading a thin layer of this light, sweet powder on their erogenous zones. It adds a little something special for them when they go back to lick and kiss it off later. The dust has a light, clean scent. It reminds me of clean linen laundry detergents and air fresheners. If you’re sensitive to scents due to allergies you may find the light, powdery texture combined with the smell to be a bit triggering.

The Original Oil of Love comes in an adorable little glass bottle with a cork. It’s a green tinted massage oil that smells absolutely amazing. It’s one of my favorite scents. Kind of a light, sweet vanilla. The oil has kind of a thicker, sticky texture, but rubs in really well. It lasts a long time during massage, heats with friction and leaves the skin feeling very soft and silky. Even though it’s a tiny bottle, it should last for several massages. My only precaution would be to make sure you push the cork in as far as you can to prevent the oil from leaking. It can be kind of messy.

The French Vanilla Massage Créme is a thick lotion. The scent is light, and not as sweet as the oil, but definitely vanilla. Both the oil and the lotion have a light, sweet flavor. It absorbs well, leaving the skin silky soft but with a bit lighter feel than the oil. I think the greatest thing about the tool kit is the small, travel-sized bottles. It kind of gives you an opportunity to try out all these Kama Sutra favorites and get a feel for what you like before investing in the larger, more expensive products.

Lastly, the Love Liquid is Kama Sutra’s water based lubricant. It feels a lot like a silicone lube though, which is awesome. Silicone lubes are slicker and thicker, but have the drawback of not being able to use them with your silicone sex toys. You can use Love Liquid for just about anything. It has a sweet flavor and contains glycerin, so you may want to avoid it if you’re prone to yeast infections.

Overall, it’s a great kit for couples who are looking to try out some of the Kama Sutra products. Specifically if you were looking for something to take along on a special trip. If you have allergy concerns or anything there are plenty of other sensual products at Vibrator.com for your enjoyment. They’ve also got a great selection of other sex toys, lingerie, books, and games so go and check them out!

Thanks to Vibrator.com for sponsoring such a fun contest at popmycherryreview.com! I’ve really enjoyed my prizes.

Review: Bow Mesh Corset

I requested one of the new corsets by Coquette from EdenFantasys for my latest review. I purchased a similar corset right before Christmas and I loved it, so I was pretty sure I would like this one too. I was right.

The Bow Mesh Corset by Coquette is gorgeous. It’s red with lots of pretty black details. The boning is black. There are little black bows randomly scattered all over the place. There’s a lot of thick, ruffling around the bottom of the corset and along the cups. Plus there are 3 larger black, satin bows. One of them is centered between the breasts and then there are two at the bottom over where the garter straps hook on. All of these ribbons and ruffles might be overwhelming or unappealing to some, but it suits me just fine. I love the really feminine look of this piece.

The Bow Mesh Corset is very well made. It’s on the higher end of the spectrum for plastic boned corsets. The plastic boning isn’t as supportive as a metal boned corset is, but it’s flattering to most body shapes. The cups are not very supportive, which was a common complaint about the Polka-Dot Mesh Corset by many. I had the same issue with that corset, but this one seems to have larger cups so it doesn’t make it look like you’re crushing them with your breasts.

The sizing seems to run a bit on the large side, which would be great if this didn’t have hook and eye closures. It would be a bit more customizable if there was a traditional ribbon closure. With the bra style closure you’ll have to be more attentive to the sizing. I wear a 42DD bra and a 16/18 shirt. I picked the 1X/2X size and it’s a bit looser than I would like, but it gets the job done regardless. I feel like if it was just a little tighter, or even if they added one or two more sets of hooks (it’s got two sets about 1/4″ apart) that it would be perfect. The way it is now it just doesn’t quite have enough shaping.

Ruffling along the bottom

The length is perfect for me. I have a long torso and find myself complaining a lot about t-shirts being too short. I’ve also got the dreaded mom pooch and stretch marks. You know, the one where you’ve got this extra skin left over from pregnancy? The length of this and the ruffling along the bottom really help camouflage this area. It’s the only place on my body that I’m terribly self conscious about, and I know that a lot of women are concerned about their bellies too. This corset is flattering and should boost the confidence of any woman. If you’ve got the same sort of body issues that I have and you’re looking for a corset, this style by Coquette is the one I would recommend. Hands down.

Measurements
Bust: 39″ (laid flat and unhooked) stretches to about 44″
Length: The hooks and eyes are 13″ long, with the extra ruffles it’s about 16″ long. From the top of the cup to the bottom in front is 18″ long.

Even with the measurements, it’s very forgiving. I would say that it would fit someone who wears a 46/48 bra size easily and comfortably. I wear a 42 and it’s fairly loose on me.

The Bow Mesh Corset is made of mesh and satin. It’s delicate, like most lingerie, so you’ll want to hand wash it or wash it on the delicate cycle. I would recommend draping it over a shower rod or lying it flat to dry. The plastic boning will conform to your shape after enough wear, and the dryer, even on low, may warp the plastic rods. It comes with 4 garter straps that attach to via these little rubber and metal clips. I’d remove the garter straps when washing and hand wash them separately, just to keep the metal bits from rusting. Also, the hooks and eyes are coated with a black paint that will scrape off with enough fastening. I don’t think that it will take away anything from the aesthetics of the piece, but machine washing may quicken the wearing off of that paint. Store it in a drawer, loosely, to avoid flattening the ruffling and the bows. They’re not very pretty when they’re squished. Other than that, just enjoy how great this corset will make you look!

Why don’t you head over to EdenFantasys check it out? If it’s not quite your style they’ve got a great selection of lingerie to choose from.
